A Generative* Coaching Approach
A unique executive coaching style grounded in disciplined curiosity,
strategic synthesis, lived leadership experience, and learning through practice.

1. listen
Start With What's Real
Listen with genuine curiosity for what is being said—and what may sit underneath it. Understand the leader in the context of the people, pressures, relationships, and system around them. Build the rapport and trust that allow us to work honestly, challenge productively, and make substantive progress over time.
4. learn
Build Through Practice
Put new choices into practice through conversations, boundaries, experiments, and different ways of leading. By paying attention to what happens, learning from the experience, and adapting along the way, leaders build greater capacity and confidence over time.
2. look
Find the Openings
Step back from the immediate issue to notice patterns, assumptions, tensions, power dynamics, and perspectives that may be missing. Bring strategic synthesis to complexity and reflect back a through-line the leader can recognize and work with.
3. lead
Step into Authorship
Clarify the leaders’ point of view, make conscious choices about how they might lead going forward, and take ownership of that path. Draw on values, experience, and emerging insight to act with greater intention and courage.
Leadership strong enough for the demands of work, and human enough for the people doing it.
beliefs
listen
Meaningful progress begins when leaders feel heard, understood, and truly seen.
We find new ways forward when we explore what is shaping the present.
look
learn
Positive change takes hold when new ways of leading are practiced, tested, and refined.
lead
Leaders build agency when they claim authorship of how—and why—they want to lead.
Generative Leadership is both personal and consequential.

belong
Ground yourself
→ Create belonging for others
People do their best work when they feel seen, valued, and safe enough to be real. Belonging makes room for trust, voice, dignity, and genuine connection—so people can participate more fully in the work ahead.

become
Grow into your leadership → Create conditions for others to grow
When people feel grounded enough to belong, they can stretch. They can learn, reflect, take risks, and grow into more of who they are capable of being. Becoming is the ongoing work of development, self-awareness, and courage.

build
Act with intention → Build together
Leadership is not only about individual development. It is also about what we create together. When people belong and become, they are better able to build trust, alignment, better decisions, and meaningful work that moves teams and organizations forward.
contribution

momentum
People are the performance system.
The conditions leaders create around people shape what people are able to create together.
BELONG, BECOME, and BUILD are not separate stages to complete at once. They are mutually reinforcing conditions of more human, more generative leadership. As people experience belonging, they have greater freedom to become. As they grow, they build greater capacity to contribute and create. And what gets built can widen the conditions for belonging and growth for others..
